Welcome to Winchester U10s
All new players are welcome to come along on Sundays.
2013 - first training session for U10's is on Sunday 1st September.
For fixtures, please see the Minis-Information section
We train every Sunday at 10.00 am beyond the clubhouse in North Walls Recreation Ground (next to the pavilion). Sessions will end between 11.30 and 12.00 pm depending on what is being covered on the day.
All players need to have a gum shield and rugby studs and plenty of layers when it is cold and to bring a drink.
All players need a parent present at all times.
The coaches are always happy to discuss anything with the parents.
This year, the U10s will be building on the contact skills learned as U9s. We'll be adding mini-mauls, mini-rucks and uncontested scrums.
In order to play at a tournament a player must firstly be a member of Winchester RFC and secondly have registered with the RFU. Joining instructions can be found on the main Minis page.

A tri-way friendly is where there are two visiting teams.
Tournaments / Festivals
This is the only competitive rugby played by the Minis where there will be trophies to be won. There are both A team and Emerging players’ tournaments and on average there are four or five per season. They generally start around 9.00 am and tend to end between 2 and 4 pm.
Selection is only required for the tournaments / festivals and an email listing players selected will be sent by Tuesday / Wednesday of the week of the tournament.
WARRIORS TRAINING - WEDNESDAY 6.30 - 7.45 PM
First Contact who are based at Winchester RFC run a midweek training session at the club for Winchester RFC U9s & U10s. This is billed separately by First Contact. A few U9s already attend and it would be great for more players to come along.
